Jeff Wearden has been a longtime resident of the Fremont area.

He has been involved in many sporting activities and for many year’s has been a girls’ softball coach.  Jeff’s real job is buying and selling wheat and corn for Scoular Grain, a 123-year-old Nebraska company with headquarters in Omaha.  Jeff is manager of the Fremont elevator.  Scoular’s Fremont evlevator primarily handles hard red winter wheat from the Dakotas, western Nebraska and eastern Colorado, and corn from local producers.  The Fremont operation is also certified to handle organic grains.  Jeff has a long history in the grain business and has a unique understanding of the grain business (i.e. wheat trade).

Scoular is the 66th largest privately held corporation n the U.S. with annual sales approaching 6 billion.  They are also 28th largest exporter and employ some 1,200 people.
