President’s Weekly Comments – February 1, 2016

Dear Rotarians,

reminder to you that our Rotary meeting this week will again be at the Midland University dining hall in the presidents room.  We are at Midland due to the fact the Fremont Golf Club is setting up for the Chamber Banquet to be held later that evening.  We will resume meeting at the Golf Club the following week on February 12th…………………………speaking of which, if you have not yet made your reservation for the Dueling Pianos event on that date, please do so.  There will be a silent and a live auction as well as plenty of food, drink and entertainment.  Make plans to attend because it is a huge source of income for our Rotary Club, and these dollars help us to fund much of what we do for the community the rest of the year.

Our host this week is Joe Sajevic, and our guest speaker is Fremont Police Officer Jim Butts.  Jim serves as the Resource Officer at the Fremont Public Schools.  He is a native of Ponca, Nebraska, and a former U.S. Marine.  Jim joined the Fremont Police Department in 1999, and has been a huge asset for the department and also for the Fremont Public Schools.

If you have not yet mailed in your contribution for the Rotary Foundation, please do so as soon as possible.  We are currently at $12,495 with 84 Rotarians contributing.  Our goal is 100% participation, so please do not delay if you are one of the remaining 24 Rotarians.

Finally, the Rotary Board of Directors has designated March 11 as Ag Day.  We have a tremendous speaker for that day, and we are asking each Rotarian who attends Rotary that day to bring a guest that is in some fashion agriculture related.  He or she will be your guest, but our goal is to have a huge ag turnout that day, so please find an ag related guest and bring them on March 11th.

Have a very good week and hope to see you on Friday.
