Coach Drake comes to Midland University after having guided Ashford University to the NAIA DII National Championship Tournament in three of his five years as head coach, including an appearance in the Round of 16 in this year’s tournament. Drake, the 2013-14 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Coach of the year, posted a 108-55 overall record in his five seasons at Ashford.
This is Mark’s 13th year as the basketball coach at Fremont High School where he also serves as Director of Guidance. Mark was himself a basketball standout at Fremont High and Midland University before beginning his basketball head coaching career at Blair High School.
Doug Moore is in his second year at Bergan, but his first year of sharing the head basketball coaching duties with Chris Rainforth. He is also the assistant football coach at Bergan. Doug’s previous experience is extensive, having coached football, basketball and track at Norfolk Catholic for 10 years.
