President’s Weekly Comments – December 14, 2015

Dear Rotarians,

The host for this week is David Pinkall, and the program will feature the head basketball coach from Bergan High School (Doug Moore), Fremont High School (Mark Williams), and Midland University (Oliver Drake).  This is an annual program, and always a very interesting one at that.  Our three teams are off to a rather good start, so it should be interesting to hear each coaches’ perspective on their season thus far.

I have two reminders for each of you.  If you have not yet made your contribution to the Rotary Foundation and would like to have it count as a tax deduction for this year, you will need to do it by December 31st.  Thus far, we have received a contribution from over 60 of the 108 Rotarians totally over $9,000.  Our goal is of course to have 100% participation, and hopefully an amount around our yearly average of $15,000.  We are most certainly off to a great start.

I want to thank each of the Rotarians who rang bells for the Salvation Army this year on behalf of Rotary.  I know it took time out of your day, but your dedication to our club is appreciated.

The winner of the drawing last week was Mr. Lucky, Darrell Puls.  You might consider sitting next to Darrell in hopes that some of his luck will rub off on you.  Remember, you cannot win if you do not attend.

Just a reminder that we do not have Rotary on either December 25th or January 1st, however we will resume meeting on January 8th.

Have a great week and hope to see you at Rotary.
