President’s Comments – Week of June 6, 2016

Dear Rotarian,

Sue Wilcoxsen, who was at Fremont High School for 35 years as a teacher, coach and assistant athletic director; and Chuck Johnston who was at Papillion LaVista Schools as a teacher, coach and administrator—the last six years as Athletic Director will speak to us about the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame

Sue has been on the Hall of Fame Board of Directors for 17 years and is currently serving as Secretary of the Board and Chair of the Induction Ceremony.   After his Papillion schools positions Chuck worked for Hail Varsity magazine for a year and has been Executive Director of the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame Foundation for the past 18 months.

If you are like me you have probably never heard of the High School Hall of Fame so this should be a good chance to learn something new on that scene.  Don’t know Chuck but Sue, of course, has been connected to Fremont sports for a very long time.  It promises to be a nice break in what—-if the weather people are to be believed—-a very hot day.   Ken Beebe was last week’s drawing winner.     Next chance this Friday, see you there.

For our president,

Darrell Puls
