President’s Comments – Week of May 30, 2016

Dear Rotarians,

Chris Wormuth is hosting the program this Friday, June 3.  The presenter will be Cindy Van Bibber, Director of Omaha National Cemetery.  She was named director in September 2015, and she is responsible for all administrative, burial and maintenance operations at the cemetery.  There was a story on KETV this week about the new Omaha National Cemetery, so this should be a very interesting program.  Cindy also has more than ten years of service with the U.S. Army, including assignments in Korea and also in Belgium with “Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe.”  Make it a point to attend if you can this Friday.

I also want to take time this Friday to recognize the eleven Rotarians who have become Paul Harris Fellows, or moved up a level within Paul Harris Fellow Society due to their donation this year to the Rotary International Foundation.

Secretary Don Kahnk will have the Rotary Dues statements at the badge table the next three weeks, so please remember to pick up your envelope when getting your badge.

Finally, Jon Rohlfs has been approved by the board to become our newest Rotarian, so I am submitting his name to the membership for approval.  There is no need to respond unless you are voting “no.”  If you are voting no, I need to hear by Thursday evening this week.  His proposer is Ronda Niehaus, and his classification is banking.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend, and mark your calendar for Friday’s meeting.

Gary
