Today’s host – John Sajevic
Our speaker today is our own Doug Shiple. A Rotarian and the General Manager of the Fremont Golf Club. Doug’s tenure at the Golf Club started in January 2015, but his start in the hospitality industry started some 30 years ago as he made his way through the various jobs along the way of caddy, dishwasher, busboy, cook, waiter, bartender and the controller and other management positions. Prior to the Fremont Golf Club, Doug was Club Manager and Controller at the Midlothian Country Club, just south of the Metro Chicago area.
Doug is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Accounting. He is a CPA and a member of the Club Managers Association of America. Doug and his wife, Kathy, lived most of their lives in and around the Chicago area. Kathy recently transferred from the Chicago office of AON Corporation, (as risk management/insurance co.), to the Omaha office. Their three children, allo fwhom have graduated from college, are Matthew, who lives in Austin, TX, Amy in Dallas and James in Chicago.
