President’s Weekly Comments – February 15, 2016

Dear Rotarian,

I want to start by thanking all of those individuals who planned Dueling Pianos, and also those of you who attended the event, or donated auction items for the event because it was a big success to say the least.  I do not yet have any final figures, but I know our club did quite well.  The committee in charge worked very hard, so please take time to thank them when you see them.  The members were Jennifer Benson, Sherry Leriger, Shelly Sandeen, Chris Wormuth, Bob Missel, and Carter Burnside.

The host for our Rotary program this week is Pat Booth.  The topic is Fremont Health’s Behavioral Medicine Services, and the presenters will be Rotarian Jeff Glosser as well as Dottie Heffernan.  Jeff is the Director of Behavioral Medicine Services at Fremont Health.  He came to Fremont Health in May of 2014 to oversee and grow the Behavioral Medicine Services program.  He has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field.

Dottie Heffernan is the Inpatient Behavioral Medicine Nurse Manager and has been a psychiatric nurse for over 40 years.  She has maintained a certification in psychiatric/mental health for 25 years.  This should be an extremely interesting program, so mark your calendar and try to attend.

Remember, March 11th will be our Ag Day meeting, so we encourage all of you who attend to invite an “ag related” guest to Rotary.  Our speaker that day will be Dr. Ronnie Green from UNL.  As we get closer to that date, I will ask each of you who have invited a guest to let me know in advance so I can provide accurate numbers for lunch to the staff at the FGC.

Reminder we have our monthly board meeting this Friday at 11:00 a.m. rather than on the last Friday of the month.

Have a great week and hope to see you at Rotary on Friday.
