President’s Weekly Comments – January 25, 2016

Dear Rotarian,

Our meeting this week will be held at the President’s Dining Room in the Midland University dining hall.  Mark your calendar accordingly.  Our speaker this week will be Jeff Jamrog, the new Midland University head football coach.  Jeff brings more than two decades of collegiate coaching experience, and several more years as a student/player.  He was a walk-on for the Huskers but later earned a scholarship spot.  Jeff went on to earn his Bachelors in Business and a Masters  in Business Administration, both in the late 80’s from UNL.  After being a graduate assistant for the Huskers for two years, he went on to coach at South Dakota from 1990-93; at UNO from 1994-96; and at New Mexico State from 1997-99 as a defensive coach/coordinator role.  Coach Jamrog served as a defensive coordinator and linebacker coach at Western Illinois in 2004, was head coach at Minnesota State from 2004-2007, and in 2008 he returned to Nebraska where he was Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations.  This should be an excellent program, so please plan to attend.

Again, we are at Midland University this week and also on February 5th (I taught 8th graders for quite some time, so repeating things is in my blood).  The buffet lunch is $8.00.

Just a reminder to please get your reservations in for Dueling Pianos February 12th at the Fremont Golf Club.  We count on our Rotarians to attend this event and help us to raise money for our club so we are able to support the many things we do for our community.  The success of this event depends on good attendance.  Invite friends to this event and remember, it is open to non-Rotarians too.

Hope you are having a good week and I hope to see you at Rotary.
