President’s weekly comments – March 20, 2015

Hello Rotarians!

This week I’ll be hosting Gretchen Bren, District 5650 Polio Plus Chair.  Gretchen just returned from India on a polio related visit for Rotary and has also traveled to Africa for polio eradication.

We are quickly approaching our fund raiser Dueling Pianos (not banjos) event April 10th.  This is a major fund raiser for the club and we very much need the full cooperations of the club to make this successful.  Each Rotarian received a envelope with the RSVP for the event and the Sherry really needs those returned within the next week and a half.  The need is for table sponsors and a few more quality action items.  Please attend and bring friends to help with the auction.  I think one item that might be a good donation is NU football tickets.  If you have a pair of tickets you think you may not use please consider offering them as silent auction items.

I still need a couple of Rotarians to attend the District 5650 Grants Seminar on Saturday April 11th in Omaha from 130pm to 4pm.  This is a requirement to qualify our club for up to $1500 in matching funds for projects in the 2015-2016 Rotary year.  Let me know if I can get two of you to do this for the club.  Detailed information is available at the District 5650 web site:  www.rotarydistirct5650.org   The Grants Seminar info is included with the District’s training information.  Once certified you will be responsible for the administration of the grant funds.  Jenell and I are doing it this year and there very little effort involved.

For more on our club check us out at www.rotaryfremont.org

I also encourage to go to the Rotary web site and see the posted Alex Lamme benefit information.  That event is this Saturday, March 21st.

Congrats to Ann Stephens last weeks drawing winner!!!

See everyone Friday in the new and improved dining area of the Fremont Golf Club.
