Sid Dillon Sr.

 

Married 61 years to wife Hazel, with 4 grown children; Cathy (Dwaine) Dillon-Peetz of Omaha, Lori (John) Sajevic, Sid (Patty) Dillon and Blake (Tanya) Dillon all of Fremont. 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Sid grew up in Omaha graduating from Tech High, and attended UNO. He lived and worked in Omaha before joining Chrysler Corporation in the late 60’s. Sid moved to Fremont in 1976 opening an Oldsmobile Cadillac dealership on 23rd and Sommer’s, fulfilling a dream of owning his own business. The company added Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Mazda dealerships in Fremont and Chevrolet in Blair under his leadership. Hobbies include working in auto business and having fun with collectible cars. He has always worked on his own vehicles, still washing his car daily if its dirty when he gets home.

He and his wife Hazel have been involved with many local and regional organizations including long term members of First Lutheran Church. They spent several winters taking two week to two month breaks at first in Arizona then in Florida where he played tennis daily. The past couple years he has become care giver to Hazel as she has needed him more.

Throughout his retirement he has remained active, stopping by the auto businesses daily, reading trade publications and in general remaining sharp on industry trends. 

 

 

 

Sid Dillon Jr.

Married to wife Patty 33 years with two children, Chase, 27 (engaged to be married June 2018) and Dana, 22 (graduating UNL May 2018), and two dogs.

Moved to Fremont when a Junior in High School graduating Fremont High 1978, then UNL in 1982, majoring in Business Administration. 

Sid has worked at Sid Dillon Olds Cadillac Mazda until opening the Chevy store in 1986. He has been involved with that expansion to the present – Sid Dillon and Dillon Brothers auto and motorcycle dealerships in 7 towns under 17 rooftops representing 23 manufacturers.

He serves on several boards including YMCA, The Bridge, Friends of Parks, and Fremont Area Community Foundation.  His past boards include Midland University, Pontiac dealer board, Harley-Davison Financial Dealer board, and Nebraska Auto Dealer Board.  Sid has also been a board member and stock holder of First State Bank and Trust of Fremont since 1999.

Sid is a member of the Presbyterian Church – thankful for God’s guidance, blessings and forgiveness.  His hobbies include making his wife happy and all things outdoors especially when physically challenging.
