Dear Rotarians,
This week we will be hearing from our own Shawn Shanahan, who leads the Fremont Area United Way. Before you dismiss this out of hand you should be aware that the United Way, at least here in Fremont, is much more than just an organization that doles out a few bucks here and there to some organizations who in turn dole out a few bucks or services. But I will let Shawn explain that to you.
We hope to welcome back those members who help us ship our bucks off to the IRS and have been missing for several weeks. I know they missed us, and we certainly missed them.
In the coming weeks we will be recognizing some scholarship students and an outstanding teacher. Brian Foy will be heading that committee so if you have input about this be sure to convey that to Brian. We are also looking for a project to support in a major way. Any ideas? Either at home or internationally. The board will consider any project within the scope of our mission.
