Rotary – August 26, 2016 – Misty Dvorak – Hope Center for Kids

Dear Rotarians

I hyped last week’s program quite heavily and the program by Dr. Singh was as good as advertised; maybe better. I found it interesting that most of what we know about the brain, we have learned in the last 5 years, according to Dr. Singh. If you weren’t there, you missed a good one.

This week Misty Dvorak from the Hope Center for Kids will be presenting an update on that facility. Most of us are quite familiar with the program started by the late Ty Schenzel, of Fremont, in Omaha and the Hope Center in Fremont is the first satellite site of that program. Misty is a 7+ year veteran with the Hope Center. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about this wonderful agency for disadvantaged kids in our community.

On Sunday, as most of you already know, we have our annual Fly-In pancake feed at the Taylor-Martin hangar, Fremont Airport. This is one of our two big fundraisers of the year; please be a part of this event in some way. See you Friday, but be aware that the following Friday there will be NO ROTARY because of Labor Day.
