President’s Weekly Comments – February 8, 2016

Dear Rotarians,

We are back at the Fremont Golf Club this week.  I appreciate the fact folks were willing to brave the weather and limited parking at Midland and still attend meetings the last two weeks.  Midland’s food service did a very good job providing a buffet lunch for us, and I appreciate their willingness to accommodate us the last two weeks.

Our host this week is Jennifer Benson, and her guest speaker is our own Joe Sajevic, Executive Director of the Fremont Public School Foundation.  Joe was recently hired to replace David Pinkall who had held that position from the very beginning of the FPS Foundation’s existence.  Joe took over this position January 1st, and I am sure he will do an excellent job.  Make it a point to attend this Friday.

Finally, our major fundraising event, “Dueling Pianos,” is this Friday evening.  If you have not yet made reservations to attend, please do so.  This event will host a silent and a live auction, and is the source for much of our revenue for the next year, so do your best to attend.  It should be a great evening.

We are nearing the end of our Rotary Foundation Campaign, and thus far we have had over $13,000 contributed by our members.  We have a total of 88 Rotarians who have donated thus far, so if you are one of the remaining 20, get your check to me soon so we can hit our 100% participation target.  I truly appreciate your generosity and remember, our level of club giving has a direct impact on the amount of grant money available to our club from the district level in the future.  These grant dollars have enabled our club to do a great many things for this community.  Keep the spirit of giving alive by making a donation regardless of the amount.

Have a great week, and hope to see you on Friday (at noon and at Dueling Pianos).

Gary
