President’s Letter Week of November 2, 2015

Dear Rotarians,

Those of you who missed last week’s meeting truly missed an outstanding presentation by Dean Jacobs. Dean is a world traveler and photo-journalist, and had some great pictures of his recent trip to Africa. Hopefully, we can get Dean back again for a future presentation. Last week’s drawing was held, and Vince O’Connor would have been the recipient of $68 had he been in attendance. Sorry Vince.

This week’s speaker will be Nebraska State Attorney General, Doug Peterson. I am quite certain this will be a good program, so mark your calendar and plan to attend. Vice President Darrell Puls is doing an excellent job getting folks to line up good programs, so make it a point to attend as often as you can. I know our speakers appreciate a good crowd.

You should be receiving a letter from me this week concerning the kick off of the 2015-16 Rotary Foundation Campaign Drive. As stated in the letter, our goal is 100 % participation, and please remember the grant dollars that come back to our club from the district are directly proportional to our level of giving. Your financial gift is tax deductible, so please give generously. You can either mail it to me in the envelope provided in the mailing, or you can give it to me personally at a meeting.

Just a reminder that our bimonthly drawing for the $10 HyVee gas card will be this Friday. Those eligible for the gas card drawing are those people who have paid a fine at Rotary during September and October, and there are 45 names in the pot.

Have a great week, and hope to see you at Rotary.

Gary
